Paying homage to an OG in urban fashion: Karl Kani. You may of seen his name worn on hip-hop’s biggest icons and they all happen to be my favourite artists growing up. From Aaliyah, Diddy, Biggie, Michael Jackson, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Nas and who could forget 2pac when he wore Kani’s pieces for Word Up! magazine. What makes Karl Kani’s pieces so iconic is his way to combine urban fashion with hip-hop music. His pieces represent both the streets and the golden era of hip-hop aka the 90’s. From baggy jeans, oversized jackets, hoodies, signature hats, and trademark boots similar to that of the classic Timberland boot.  Also if you have noticed, Kani stayed true to his signature trademark logo when it comes to his pieces. I managed to get my hands on the Gates. Ave Rugby shirt with the iconic original 90’s design on it while Kani’s signature logo is embedded across the front. I think up next will be the sweatsuit that 2pac wore for Word Up! magazine. Big ups to Karl Kani for staying true to the fashion game and for being such a huge influence in both fashion and hip-hop. Your pieces will never go out of style =)

    1. Hey! My advice to you would to be talk about what you know and don’t be the “typical fashion blogger” from what you see on the gram. Find a way to stand out and when you do, brands will recognize you. Don’t ever try to fit in and do not compare yourself to others. I hope this helps you get your start ❤ Once you do, send me a link to your blog! Thanks for stopping by =)
