Being connected often gets the best of us for we live in a generation of attachment. I can’t lie, I have my guilty moments where I am glued to my mobile device but I’ve come to notice a pattern. I mostly reach for my device whenever I am in a social setting where I don’t know anyone or whenever my anxiety kicks in. I cannot control it, for it just happens. It wasn’t until I noticed others doing it and I caught a vibe. It gives off the impression that you are closed off, you don’t want anyone talking to you. For those who don’t know, I work in the social media field and everyday for 8 hours, I am constantly creating updates to each platform and trying to come up with innovative marketing strategies. And don’t get me wrong, I love it for I get to learn new thangs about wireless communication but at the same time, you have to separate yourself from the ignorance and negativity. I created a few mantras for myself as a reminder to stay connected to thy self, they go as the following:

1.) Look up!

2.) Pay attention to the small things (kids laughing, the blowing of the trees, watching the clouds)

3.) Write your thoughts down in your journal

4.) Never hide what and how you’re feeling

5.) It’s okay to have lazy days, they are your resting periods.

What do you do to help you stay connected? Let me know in the comment box below!
