Fashion Week: Ready, Set, Go!

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year.” And no, I am not referring to the classic Christmas tune by Andy Williams, too early for that! If you are a lover of all things fashion-related, you would know that September marks the most important month in terms of fashion aside from the most anticipated issue of Vogue. I kid you not, I spent the long weekend watching throwback footage of Marc Jacobs F/W 2016/2017, Balmain’s F/W 2016/2016 and of course my favourite designer, Alexander Wang’s F/W 2016/2017 collection. The first week start in New York (Sept 7th – 15th) and moves on London (Sept 16th- 20th), Milan (Sept 21st – 27th), and Paris finishing strong (Sept 27th – Oct 5th). For the next week, this girl will be glued to snapchat, online magazines, Vogue and basically all social media platforms for she refuses to miss front row hype. This year, I am curious to see which trends will hit the runway for designers such as Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs, Balenciaga, Céline, VFILES, Givenchy, J.W. Anderson and Off-White. This year, I hope to see more fun pieces for both men and women since fashion has become so gender friendly as of late (shoutout Young Thug). Women are embracing the tailored suits while men aren’t afraid to rock flamboyant color schemes and yes, dresses. The street style outside of the venues never ceases to disappoint but this time, I am more curious to see what London has to offer in street style since street wear is so popular in the UK. Expect a blog post featuring my top 5 choices, this is gonna be a hard post to do. Eeeek! Have a look at my favourite fashion moments from last year’s Fashion Week in preparation for this year. Which Spring 2017 collections are you most excited for?
