Happy first week of August everybody! Thought I’d start off this month with an outfit post like yaaaas!  But this time, I’m not gonna discuss the checkered “Mann”cardigan around my waist while a black Oak + Fort dress rests lightly over my body. Oh no, I am gonna go a little bit personal with this one.  Growing up, I was always the shy girl who didn’t say much for confidence was never really a prophecy that I embraced. I would encourage others so much to the point where I forgot to encourage myself. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with empowering others but empowerment has a focal point which is the SELF. But some confuse confidence with arrogance, so let’s not our panties in a bunch people. Confidence is believing in yourself without having to say it out loud. It also means to live your life your life how YOU want without giving a fuck.  Even if it means sitting like a man in black hooker boots as you may of seen in one of the photos above. Lately I’ve been finding that I haven’t really been living in the moment and with my birthday coming up this month, it has put me to the belief that I haven’t accomplished anything. For some, it may seem that I have been doing a lot but in my eyes, it’s not enough. Does anyone feel this way? Arrogance on the other hand, is the belief that you are better than others whether it resides in a person’s mindset, appearance, and yes, an outfit. I have come across arrogant people more than once in my lifetime and the key is to not let their character get to you for the most arrogant people are often the most insecure. What I am trying to say is, embrace your confidence without having to explain who you are, always put yourself first and to not do it in an arrogant manner. We’ve all had periods where we encourage others to pursue their dreams before we pursue ours which is great, but we should never lose sight of ours.  Take time to own who you are as an individual and to stop putting your life on hold for others. Don’t lose sight of your purpose and always remain confident even when times get rough.  With my birthday approaching this month, it’s time to start believing in myself again and perhaps be more confidently selfish? Got a nice ring to it! Comment with your thoughts below whether its the outfit or not. Also be sure to follow me on Instagram, don’t be afraid to leave a comment there as well =) #StyleYourCondfidence
