O Canada! Today not only marks the first of the seventh month of the year, but most importantly it marks Canada’s 148th birthday! I would write out 148 things about why Canada is awesome, but the way my time is set up. Coincidentally, the organization that I volunteer at is right across the Legislative building in the heart of Downtown Edmonton. In front of the building lies a large walkway with a dancing fountain which is a great anti-radiation approach for I could feel my skin gradually melting. Thanks to a cherry red skater skirt, a red Hermès-inspired headscarf and a Legislative building, I thought I’d provide readers ten reasons on why Canada is super-whoppin awesome:

1. We are patriotic in areas of sports, beer, and our flag.

.) We have a sense of humour.

.) Canada is known for its beautiful scenery/natural landscapes (i.e: mountains, lakes, rivers, and three oceans).

.) We made it to the Olympics & won on home soil (Team Canada + Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, need I say more?)

.) Our $5/$10/$20/$50 bills look better than yours!

.) We got dope looking cities (Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal).

.) It’s the land of opportunity! (entrepreneurship, occupation, education, etc)

.) Did I mention health care?

.) We are a mosaic of endless culture.

.) And… we got Drake.
